Release notes are Smooch’s latest product and feature updates and improvements.
We’ve added a new and powerful way for you to see what is happening with your Smooch App. The log console shows you the various delivery events that happen for each of your messages on the platform. For example, while using the Post Message API, you’ll see a first entry when your message is accepted by Smooch and a further entry once it's delivered on a OTT channel like Facebook Messenger.
This first version of the log console is of great help while exploring Smooch and starting to integrate with our Webhooks and our API. For example, it can help you track down that webhook event that you can’t seem to see on your server. You can also see all messages coming from your Facebook Messenger test page and easily pick up the app user id.
Once you are in production, we recommend listening to the
delivery:failure webhook events as you might might be overwhelmed with the number of entries in the console. We’ll soon be adding search and filters to make the console even more flexible when dealing with production workloads at scale.
Suggested replies now on all channels
We also added cross-channel support for Suggested replies on iOS, Android & Web messenger. Suggested replies are super useful to direct the conversation with clear options. They also make your bot flows and workflows awesomely quick and efficient to use.
New API to configure push notifications for iOS and Android
We now have an up-to-date channel capabilities grid available in the documentation. Use it to find out if a certain message type or platform feature such as an ‘activity indicator’ is supported by a specific channel. It also provides a useful ‘at a glance’ comparison on the availability of features across various OTT platforms.
Also new in the docs is our full changelog where we publish a note for every changes we make to the platform. This provides a detailed reference on every feature we are shipping so you can stay up to date with everything Smooch!
